Approach to Counseling

As a client centered therapist my intention is to create a safe space in which trust, care, and respect are the foundation. Together we will set reachable goals and I will integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , and Child Centered Play Therapy for children 3-11. For those seeking therapy for trauma, I incorporate Internal Family Systems (IFS) and TraumaPlay for work with children.

I provide counseling to children (ages 3+), teens, and adults. My practice is a safe space for all clients regardless of ethnicity, gender, sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic status, or disability.

I am also trained to integrate faith into counseling when it is desired and requested by the client. This is not the same as pastoral counseling, please reach out if you have questions.

Qualifications

I hold a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling , and am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina.

I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the Association for Play Therapists (APT). I am currently working towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist (RPT).
